$GFL In addition to the previous analyst information I have posted, I am also posting the first page from recent analyst reports regarding GFL by: 1) Scotiabank: 2) RBC Capital Markets; and 3) Truist Attached here is page 1 from the Truist report on 11/7/24 entitled: "ES Auction Providing Catalyst for Higher Multiple Post Sale" Truist has a 'Buy' rating on GFL and they increased their price target from USD $46 to USD $54. Truist's summary statement is as follows: "We think management's comments around the sale of the Environmental Services (ES) business confirmed recent media reports and provides increased visibility for multiple expansion catalysts post sale. The company is confident a deal can be signed and announced before February and expects after-tax proceeds of at least C$6.0B. GFL provided a preliminary 2025 view including the outlook for 10%+ EBITDA growth (implied: C$2,470M vs. prior consensus: C$2,484M) before additional acquisitions. We adjust our estimates and raise our PT to $54 from $46."

RBC's summary statement is as follows: "Our view: GFL Environmental Inc. ("GFL") reported Q3 results that were in line with consensus (Solid Waste business continues to perform well) and reiterated its 2024 guidance. With results checking all the boxes, investor focus today was on the company's commentary regarding the Environmental Services ("ES") auction process (proceeds from the sale expected to be a minimum of $6B after taxes). Overall, we remain constructive on GFL shares given strong underlying results, the potential for a "cleaner" story following the sale of the ES business, and a valuation that is still at a discount to peers."

$GFL In addition to the previous analyst information I have posted, I am also posting the first page from recent analyst reports regarding GFL by: 1) Scotiabank: 2) RBC Capital Markets; and 3) Truist Attached here is page 1 from the Scotiabank report on 11/7/24 entitled: "Q3 Breaks Records, ES Sale Advances at Likely Higher Multiple" Scotia has a 'Sector outperform' rating on GFL and they increased their price target from USD $50 to USD $51. Scotia's summary statement is as foolows: "OUR TAKE: Positive. We maintain our SO rating while raising our target to US$51 (was US$50) on slight multiple expansion to reflect positive ES sale updates. GFL delivered an in-line Q3 EBITDA on better-than-expected margins (record). However, Q4 guidance was mixed and initial 2025 outlook for Solid Waste was supportive of our prior expectations, with potential for upside from M&A. More importantly, management provided encouraging updates on the ES sale process, which could serve two notable catalysts over the next 12 months - (1) a leverage ratio that should be consistent with an investment grade rating and (2) significant share buybacks to the tune of 5%-10%. We have made only minor tweaks to our assumptions as we continue to include the ES segment in our analysis. Although shares have significantly rebounded over the past six months, we continue to see value in GFL at 14.6x EV/EBITDA on 2025E vs. comps at 15.2x, especially in light of its potential investment grade rating and FCF conversion improvement."

$GFL Attached is page 1 of a Truist analyst report on GFL issued yesterday entitled: "First Take: 3Q24 Results" Truist has a 'Buy' rating on GFL with a $46 price target. Their 'Valuation and Risks' section included the following: "We value GFL using the following metrics: (1) EV/EBITDA multiples; and (2) FCF/Share multiples. Note, as GFL reports its results in Canadian Dollars we translate our estimates and PT from CAD to USD using a 0.73 exchange rate. EV/EBITDA Valuation: We estimate GFL will generate $1.62B (C$2.245B) in adj. EBITDA in 2024E, which implies a multiple of 14.5x using the current EV. Peers in the Solid Waste industry currently trade at ~16x on average. Assuming the multiple trends to 14.7x over the next twelve months and using our 2025E adj. EBITDA of $1.727B (C$2.392B) (adj. for FCF), we arrive at our $46 target price. Price to Free Cash Flow Valuation: We estimate GFL will generate $1.55 (C$2.15) in 2024E FCF per share, which implies a multiple of 25.5x using the current share price. Peers in the Solid Waste industry currently trade at ~33x on average. Assuming the multiple trends to 26x over the next twelve months and using our 2025E FCF per share of $1.75 (C$2.43), we arrive at our $46 target price. Blending the two methods outlined above, we arrive at our $46 price target."

$GFL Attached is page 1 of a RBC analyst report on GFL issued yesterday entitled: "Q3 results in line and 2024 guide reiterated; provides update on sale of ES business" RBC has an 'Outperform' rating ('Positive' sentiment) on GFL with a $48 price target. Their 'Q3/24 initial take' on GFL is as follows: "Neutral to positive. Overall, Q3 results were in line with consensus estimates and GFL reiterated its 2024 guidance. The company also provided a positive update on the sale of its Environmental Services business, noting that it has received several expressions of interest that suggest GFL should net a minimum valuation of $6B after taxes, which the company expects to use to repay at least $3.5B of debt (remainder available for buybacks/general corporate purposes). Our estimated valuation range at the time of the initial announcement reflected an EV of ~$6B-$7B pre-corporate overhead and taxes. In our view, the commentary in today's release reflects increased confidence on the part of management to complete a transaction at a favorable price point, which should be received well. On the leverage front, Net Leverage exiting Q3 was 4.05x (lowest in the company's history), reflecting sequential improvement from 4.29x as of Q2/24. Recall, the company's full year outlook calls for leverage of 3.65x-3.85x exiting 2024."

$GFL Attached is page 1 of a Bank of America analyst report on GFL issued yesterday entitled: "Solid Q3, maintains FY24 guidance – ES sale process remains on track" BofA has a 'Neutral' rating on GFL and they increased their price target from $41.28 to $48.18. Importantly, the report notes: "ES sale remains on track – minimum of $6bn (post tax) GFL noted that it has received several expressions of interest on its ES business and plans to sell the segment for a minimum of $6bn in after tax proceeds. Based on our estimates, this values the asset at a minimum of ~13x. Prior to Q3 results, we sensed some investor questions surrounding the transaction (i.e., what constitutes ‘mid teens’ multiple?, transaction an outright sale vs partial sale? Type of buyers? etc). GFL noted that it plans to utilize the proceeds from the ES sale to repay at least $3.5bn of debt with the remainder to be allocated toward buying back stock and general corporate purposes. GFL noted that it remains committed to exiting 2024 with net leverage in the range of 3.65–3.85x. We look for more color on the earnings call at 8:30am ET."

$GFL GFL Environmental reports Q3 EPS 23c, consensus 25c Reports Q3 revenue $2.01B, consensus $1.48B. "Once again, the dedication of our over 20,000 employees delivered consistent high-quality results across all our financial metrics," said CEO Patrick Dovigi. "Our continued focus on strong execution generated industry leading Adjusted EBITDA margin1 expansion of 300 basis points over the prior year quarter, the highest in GFL's history. Consistent with our capital allocation plan for the year, we deployed $96.4M in incremental growth initiatives during the quarter, primarily related to extended producer responsibility and RNG opportunities, and $47.4M in tuck-in acquisitions. Inclusive of the impact of these investments and acquisitions, we achieved Net Leverage1 of 4.05x, the lowest in our company's history. We are also tracking in line to achieve our 2024 capital allocation targets, including the deployment of approximately $900M into M&A and incremental growth investments. Given our strong results year to date, we are confident in our ability to deliver on our 2024 key guidance metrics and are well positioned for another year of outsized margin expansion and growth in 2025."

$GFL Earnings today after the close. This is from GuruFocus on 10/30/24: "GFLShares Rise on Strong Bids for Environmental Unit, Exceeding $7.2 Billion Valuation" After news that the first bids for the company's environmental business unit exceeded expectations, GFL Environmental Inc.'s (NYSE:GFL) shares moved higher Wednesday. More than 25 companies showed interest in the division; proposals now range in value from $7.2 billion to $8 billion, according to CTFN, which quoted a source familiar with the subject. The unit was supposed to bring in between $6.5 billion and $7 billion, but the higher than projected bids point to robust market demand for GFL's environmental offerings. Reflecting a trend observed in comparable high-profile acquisitions, the company had set an initial offer deadline for the end of October and attracted interest from both strategic and financial buyers. Analyzes say the strong bidding emphasizes the appeal of GFL's resources and the increasing focus on environmental sustainability. The possible sale would let GFL simplify its processes and create funds for investment in areas of fundamental expansion. On Nov. 6, GFL is anticipated to post its Q3 results; investors will be keen for more information on the bid process and the company's strategic direction going ahead. The encouraging changes coincide with GFL trying to profit from increased environmental sector demand.

$NXE $MGNI $OPRA $GFL $DAWN Some stocks I will be watching with interest this earnings season: As is widely known, earnings and guidance are often a key catalyst for stocks that can create significant moves in either direction. Obviously, the macroeconomic landscape can also be an overall factor but, barring something significant happening in the macro environment, earnings season tends to focus on individual companies and the sectors in which the operate. This earnings season I will be paying particular attention to the following stocks based on both fundamental and technical reasons: 1) Uranium-related stocks (NXE in particular): The CGE/MSFT and AMZN announcements recently have seemed to revive interest in the nuclear energy sector. While I think the bigger opportunity is longer-term as nations begin to look into nuclear energy again to meet their renewable energy goals, in the immediate term there is particular interest in the potential use of nuclear to support the increased energy needs required with AI. With that said, there are a number of stocks I will be watching here, many of which are recovering from drops over the summer and are forming the right side of stage 1, cup-shaped bases. For example, you can look at the charts of DNN and ETFs URA, URNJ and URNM to see what I am talking about. In particular, I am very interested in watching NXE which is also forming the right side of a stage 1 base and has possible news coming out on 11/19/24. The pivot point for the base is $8.88 and I will be watching that number. If it can move through that pivot point it will be moving into all-time highs with no overhang. For more information regarding the 11/19 possible catalyst, you can see my post on the NXE forum here: https://stocktwits.com/DonCorleone77/message/589757627 2) MGNI: This one is a rather frustrating one to watch. All the analyst I have found that cover the stock seem to be positive on the company’s prospects and there are some future growth possibilities for the company (like being named a Netflix ad partner) that seem very compelling. However, the stock has recently run into three minor selloffs over the last few months for various reasons. While the stock recovered from the first two, they are now trying to recover from the third. The latest involves a comment from a Disney exec in a podcast that seems to have been used to push the stock down. However, an announcement yesterday from MGNI seems to show the recent downward move may have been without justification and/or exaggerated. You can search the MGNI board for posts that explain everything. The pivot point from its last base is $14.44, a key number to watch IMHO. Earnings are scheduled for Thursday, 11/7. 3) OPRA: This one is a Noway-based company that continues to innovate in designing and developing web browsers for mobile phones and PCs. The stock responded favorably to its last earnings guidance and is currently in the midst of a lengthy, stage 1, double-bottom base with a pivot point of $17.25. It has been inching its way toward that pivot point and earnings are due out next Tuesday (10/29) before the market opens. Will be watching to see if earnings can push the stock through that pivot point. 4) GFL: News flow and analyst price targets seem to be positive for this stock. It is currently in a late, stage 1 flat base with a pivot point of $43.79. It is in the waste management business which isn’t particularly sexy but I will be watching earnings pre-market on Wednesday, 11/6 to see if the stock can break through that pivot point into all-time highs. 5) DAWN: Earlier this week, Piper Sandler came out with a report that stated their survey of pLGG physicians regarding the utilization of DAWN’s Ojemda drug suggested the rate of new patient starts in 3Q appeared to be considerably ahead of their prior expectations. The stock is in a late, stage 1 cup with handle base and a pivot point of $15.53. I will be watching earnings and guidance next week (Wednesday 10/30) to see if Piper’s survey data is accurate and if the stock can break out of its existing base. Please note that, as always, these are just my personal observations and in no way constitute financial advice. Happy to hear any thoughts from others in the comment section.

$GFL Let's see if this does anything to move GFL toward its pivot point of 43.79 in its current late stage 1, consolidation base. In addition, Rose Han is a thief: GFL Environmental resumed with an Outperform at Scotiabank Scotiabank analyst Konark Gupta last night resumed coverage of GFL Environmental with an Outperform rating and $50 price target. The firm calls GFL a top pick in g North American environmental services. GFL not only has an attractive valuation compared to its larger peers, but it also offers more upside from potential acquisitions and free cash flow acceleration, aided by ongoing deleveraging toward an investment grade rating, the analyst tells investors in a research note. The firm expects GFL's free cash flow growth to be significantly stronger than its peers this year and beyond.
