$ENVX I am not ignoring the delays but TJ “promising” a certain amount of samples out by end of 2024 is not a reason to lose faith. It was a crazy redesign that the company has done a pretty damn good job with. Remember, Raj repurposed the business to concentrate in cell phones first. And we basically got yields on Fremont to 60% towards Q4 2023. Given this, Enovix also had issues with zone 3 and stood their ground which is great longer term. Context to debunk the bears on this point.
Remember this…Zone 1 and Zone 4 are “farms” for more lines. - Zone 1: Laser patterning (low risk to upper 90s / initial 90s on equipment )
- Zone 2: Assembly; Stacking and Busbar (low risk to upper 90s / initial 90s on equipment )
- Zone 3: Packaging; Pouch/Fill/Prelithiation (med risk / no issues Fab 1 but scaled bigger)
- Zone 4: Formation; First/Final charge (low risk to 90s / much is industry standard)
TJ and the team he has put in are solid veterans of the industry. I trust they get it done.

$ENVX Group14 acquired Europe’s leading silane factory and manufacturing technology, Schmid Silicon Technology Holding GmbH, in 2023 to bolster access for the silicon battery industry. This acquisition secured control over a vital resource, adding redundancy and mitigating potential supply chain bottlenecks. In September, 2024, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) selected Group14 for an award negotiation of up to $200M for a U.S.-based silane manufacturing plant with an annual capacity of 7,200 metric tons. Because the largest global source of silane today is China, the supply of silane gas in the U.S. must be increased to secure the U.S. silicon battery industry. A new silane factory in Washington state will allow Group14 and other silicon battery companies in the U.S. to source this critical raw material domestically, to support EV-scale battery production and reduce foreign battery supply chain dependence.
