$DB Rates started coming down before banks were forced to pass on as much of the benefits to their clients as they had expected. That has allowed them to set up hedges at advantageous levels. Deutsche Bank said Wednesday that the income from such hedging will keep rising steadily, hitting EUR3.4 billion, or about $3.7 billion, in 2027, compared with EUR1 billion in 2022. Roughly 80% of the benefits for the next three years are already locked in.

$BCS and $DB are grossly undervalued. BCS price to YTD 3 quarter earning is 8.5x. Adding estimated Q4 earnings, forward PE is ~6.5x. You can not believe a global bank with 320 year history can buy itself out using 6 year earning. The price to tangible book value is only 0.7x. And the bank is buying back shares everyday. The remaining funding from the 2nd buyback in 2024 (£1.75B) is estimated running another 7 weeks every day to eliminate ~2M ordinary shares. Additionally, BCS has 3.5% dividend yield at current price. For comparison, XLF TTM PE is 21x. Similarly to $DB, 2025 forward PE is ~6x. 2024 dividend is $0.74 (4.3%) yield to be paid in May 2025. And 2025 dividend will be $1.09 (6.3% at today’s price). The bank is expected to initiate buybacks in early 2025 and 2026 with > €1B each year. $DB price to TNAV is even lower ~0.53x now. Buy these two EU banks to ensure to beat treasury yield and with potential of huge capital gains trading with price fluctuations risks.
