$CAJ $ASML $INTC - $CAJ developing to be possible competitors to $ASML, but not too sure about Nikon. They have supplied to $INTC and China, the former who has a track record of overpromising & underdelivering, and the latter whose relations are considered a national security risk. Silchester likely frustrated that Nikon's rival, $CAJ, went up on $ASML hype while Nikon traded sideways thus chose to increase and report its large holding of 5% (as required) as a possible catalyst. They are right though, Nikon is greatly undervalued considering its position in the photolithography industry but their future outlook not really dependent on them per se.

$CAJ $ASML $INTC Nikon - "Silchester International Investors, a London-based firm that has advocated for corporate change in Japan, disclosed it has taken a stake in Nikon Corp., pushing the shares up by the most in almost three years. Silchester reported it holds 5% of the Tokyo-based company and that it may request dividend increases, share buybacks or other changes to capital policy, according to a filing to Japan’s Finance Ministry. Nikon’s stock surged as much as 11% In Japan, Silchester has been urging companies to improve their capital allocation and pay out more to shareholders. It’s taken stakes in companies such as regional lender Kyoto Financial Group Inc. and construction company Obayashi Corp. While Nikon is best known for its cameras, it has recently benefited from a surge in demand for chip-making equipment as the semiconductor industry has grown. The company’s stock had already increased 12% this year before Wednesday’s trading."

It unfortunately holds KaKao which suck ballz but it holds very little & largest holding by far is Samsung Electronics with (24.86% of portfolio) so it will make up for it and will shoot up. Listed on NYSE Arca. I just use Korean broker for my $SSNLF holdings which I buy through exchanging with USD -> KR Won because fucking Powell not decreasing rates fucked up my American portfolio (except gas and oil) but made the exchange rate very favorable to USD so I just buy a lot of foreign shares. I also use Japanese broker for Japanese semiconductor stocks like $TOELY and $CAJ (check them out). Here largest holdings of $EWY - all good Korean corporations except maybe Celltrion but that is only because they don't have explosive R&D potential like American BP as they are not located in USA - Celltrion still good company.

$INTC Semiconductor industry went parabolic both in the USA and Japan except for $INTC and Nikon. Nikon is a big supplier of semiconductor equipment to $INTC. Not looking good right now with China but its alright. Trust me I know this shit well. Come to $CAJ and $SSNLF. $CAJ aiming to be a rival to $ASML and $SSNLF finally trying to ditch its shitty country and into America. $SSNLF stock price was artificially deflated due to political/legal bullshitery there but after investing/ opening up factories in America, would shoot up. $150+

$ASML look at $CAJ. They already have a big presence in the semiconductor machinery industry but shifting to be more competitive in the photolithography sector like $ASML through their lens technology. Semiconductor needs great lens technology and a lot of camera manufacturers already manufacture semiconductor equipment like Nikon but Nikon got fucked with USA tariffs targeting China. FYI American diversification out of Taiwan is aimed towards Japan - look at their semiconductor industry and how it followed closely to the rise of $NVDA.

$CAJ I expect Canon's challenge against ASML will embody the modern Japanese spirit of incremental development - precise and effective but so fucking slow. No wonder there is an inverted population pyramid. Bored retired old Japanese men will keep on reporting illegally parked cars to the police even though THOSE CARS CAUSE ZERO DIRECT/INDIRECT HARM TO ANYONE AND THEY RECEIVE NO REWARD. Not politically incorrect btw my grandmother was born in Japan.

There is some interesting information about new nano lithography technology Canon has developed. The best part is since it trades as an ADR on the OTC, there is not ton of institutional ownership. In fact, neither Vanguard or Blackrock is a top holder of this stock. If the technology proves to be effective and cost efficient they will pile in.
