$AMBC SBB's of 50 million (now 10% per year at this SP; next year 11% of remaining shares, then 12,2% and so on if SP stays equal ) will do the trick for me. SP will , alas, go up however..... Imagine the basic persharefigures (and thus SP) after 5 years 🤑😇

$AMBC Do you knew, how AMBAC earns it´s money as pure P&C company? 3 Ways of income New Holding with no debt and $1,6bn Assets: -> 1,6 billion assets in MGAs 1)MGAs sells insurance vie Cirrata -> Cirrata earns commisions 2)Everspan reinsurer of MGAs and Insurerowner of the oldest classic insurance company in Washington earns premiums 3)MGAs growing and pay dividend to Holding of AMBAC at the end of the financial year. When a new MGA is accepted, it benefits from the Cirrata distribution network, as well as access to 3 different reinsurers, which enables them to grow quickly. Cirrata generates permanent revenue for AMBAC without AMBAC assuming capital risks via Cirrata. Cirrata serves only as an intermediary company. Everspan generates additional income. The MGAs generate income for the holding company through dividend payments.

$AMBC seems the algos are still pushing this around without any care about the underlying business. Its going to take multiple quarters of growth and earnings to get investors interested in even rethinking what they know as "Ambac". The fact that there is basically zero inst coverage tells you everything. They really will need to go on a road show after the legacy business is gone and tell folks what they are doing.

Expected a better SP 2day. Maybe have to wait another quarter to get out of relative poverty.
Luckily, some other eggs in the nest provide pocket money.

@Gocker that 1.4B book value for $AMBC is really only 1B when you take into account of the 400m goodwill lol. then talk about losing more than half of the business revenue in 2025, and down to about 165M in revenue which will be only a small fraction of root's revenue considering Root's massive growth prospects. in comparison to root, AMBC is a terrible purchase lol. but if you want to go for value based on book value, and buy a dead company with little to no future prospects, then go for it.

$AMBC No love for this comapny rn. Even earnings calls only have 1 wallstreet analyst asking questions. Now that the legacy run off business is approved to be sold mgt can get to work on execution of remaking the business into a specialty p&c business and MGA. If they pull this off it could 10x in 5 years or less. The current management is hell bent on seeing a (much) higher share price.

$AMBC My take on AMBAC: AMBAC announced in early June that it is selling it legacy business to Oaktree for $420M in cash + issue stock warrants for buying upto 9.9% shares outstanding with a 6.5 year term. Using the $420M they’ve announced a $50M stock buyback to be conducted in 3 months. Share Buyback = $50M in 3 months ~555k shares/day Average daily volume = ~650k Vanguard + BlackRock + State Street + Dimensional Fund = $187M or 35% of shares outstanding Mutual funds are passive investors so I doubt they’ll tender their shares except Dimensional (they seem to be slightly more active than the rest). So, suddenly you will have an entity in the market which wants to buy 85% of daily trading volume. Management bought stock back in August in ~$10-11 range. They get a reduce long term debt with the remaining $370M and with a growing P&C business they can start growing their EPS soon. Currently trading at 7xPE, shares could re-rate at 11-12xPE
