$OZK $ZION it’s a soft landing, with multiple bank failures.

User Image BrazilStockLover Posted - 5 days ago

$ZION Besides CRE problems, banks are not making loans. No house mortgages, no car loans, I'm receiving 0% balance credit card offers every day

$OZK $DCOM $ZION absolute market maker prop up here, 😂😂😂 Absolute fire sale in CRE right now, entities handing the keys back to the banks.

$OZK $ZION $DCOM banks that will be going tits up. Fed not cutting rates, meanwhile there’s a CRE firesale going on, while Core CPI rises every month.

User Image Bud_Fox_1987 Posted - 1 week ago

$OZK old man $GLD is saying the FED will need to raise rates, not lower them, these two banks $ZION and $OZK have +400% CRE to bank equity. They are both dead in the water. It’s going to take only a few marks to market and they’ll be wiped out.

$OZK $ZION everyone move to the door slowly…

User Image Bud_Fox_1987 Posted - 1 week ago

@palladium all true except 25% of $ZION CRE is non performing dogshit. About $6B worth. About equal to shareholder equity. Fed cutting a quarter point helps nothing. See how the Market Makers are slowly liquidating so as not to cause alarm, can’t have everybody rush the door at once. Not to mention the puts that have been flying off the shelves. I hope this isn’t a big chunk of your portfolio. I’ve sold the last of my shares today.

$ZION The European Central Bank (ECB) has just lowered interest rates. As a long-term holder of Zion, I'm particularly optimistic about its prospects. The region it operates in, known as the Mormon Corridor, boasts the strongest economy in the nation, especially compared to the political and economic turmoil seen elsewhere. Have you been to Idaho or Utah? The infrastructure planning, population growth, and overall development are on a different level compared to other states. Zion is unlikely to be sold to any East or West Coast conglomerates—the Mormons and Ensign Peak will ensure it remains in their hands, preserving what can be considered the last frontier in the United States. As a long-term investor, and with the Federal Reserve likely to cut rates soon, I see no reason why Zion's value wouldn't continue to rise. In terms of CRE portfolios I would worry about the dog-shit zombie economies of NY and CA.

User Image Bud_Fox_1987 Posted - 2 weeks ago

$OZK and $ZION banks: based on CRE loan due diligence the FMV Equity value of both banks would be conservatively estimated at $5 and $7 respectively. I’d say the back down in interest rates we are seeing are not the markets front running the Fed’s future rate cuts but rather the market beginning to price in a pretty awful capital/liquidity event across the banking system.

User Image Bud_Fox_1987 Posted - 2 weeks ago

$OZK $ZION it’s not even close. The amount of toxic CRE dogshit on these to banks’ book would make your nuts fall off. You are talking about 400%_600% dogshit CRE loan to equity. They will crater sometime overnight in the next quarter. Shareholders will be begging to get the NYCB buyout which will never come.

$ZION examining the CRE portfolio, at least 1/3 of them will be non performing dog water in the next 6 months. $OZK is not going to fair well here either.

The Utah based regional bank $ZION shares rose +3.51% on Monday at $41.32, after reporting better-than-expected earnings in Q1 Net interest income & net interest margins also came in above estimates. GAAP earnings per share of $0.96 beat it by $0.01. FDIC special assessments were a $0.07 drag on the quarter’s earnings per share (EPS), but this was largely offset by lower credit provisions, which decreased to $13M versus $45M in the year-ago period. The stock is still down -5.81% in 2024, but up +54.58% y/y, with a market cap of $6.12B.

$ZION Earnings beat ✅

User Image DonCorleone77 Posted - 04/22/24

$ZION Zions Bancorp reports Q1 EPS 96c, consensus 98c Reports Q1 provision for credit losses $13M vs. $45M last year and Q1 net charge-offs of $6M vs. no net charge-offs last year. Tangible book value per common share increased to $29.34 from $24.85. CEO Harris Simmons commented, "Q1 results continued to reflect the adverse impact on net interest income of the bank failures a year ago, with taxable-equivalent revenue down 11.3% from the prior year. We nevertheless saw incremental improvement in our net interest margin and earning asset growth, and adjusted operating expenses (which exclude an additional FDIC special assessment related to last year's bank failures) increased a modest 0.4% from last year's quarter.... We continue to expect that ultimate realized loan losses will be very manageable over the remainder of the year, as indicated by annualized net charge-offs for the quarter which were a very low 0.04% of loans and leases. Immediately following quarter end, we completed a very successful conversion of all the deposit accounts at Amegy Bank and Nevada State Bank to our new TCS BaNCS platform. We anticipate completing the conversion of substantially all remaining accounts later this summer..."
