$WBA One wonders if politicians start looking at naked shorting, high frequency trading, and citadel. Could be a coincidence nunes sends an inquiry to the nasdaq and stocks like wba pop. https://www.cnbc.com/2024/04/19/citadel-securities-blasts-trump-media-ceo-over-djt-short-sale-letter.html

$WBA $CVS kudos to Lawrence Abrams (Ph.D. Economics of PBMs, formularies, rebates, biosimilars, ASPs) for breaking this story. https://twitter.com/larrywabrams/status/1781366689340457178 https://twitter.com/larrywabrams/status/1781391848772391070

@AGI2018 my guess is: Mark Cuban’s cost plus program which is cost + 15%, or $AMZN, or $WBA. I don’t think they would partner with a PBM that isn’t a top 3, and also people want cost plus now. Walgreens makes sense as it cannot be $CVS, and $WBA is the only other large retail footprint in the country.

Is $WBA the "unspecified company" that $ALVO has "signed a 'long-term agreement' with"? Keep in mind that the Alvotech drug has been excluded from the big three PBMs for 2024: CVS Caremark, OptumRx, and Express Scripts. Read below. Alvotech and U.S. commercial partner Teva have signed a “long-term agreement” with an unspecified company to boost access to their biosimilar version of AbbVie’s blockbuster drug Humira, Alvotech said Friday. The Alvotech spokesperson said the company would be making further statements on its partnership in about four weeks. https://www.biopharmadive.com/news/alvotech-teva-humira-biosimilar-partnership-sales-simlandi/713703/

price tries to stay ahead of earnings, which is why high growth companies forward p/e look higher than they should be (expensive) and low growth or negative growth companies forward p/e look lower than they should be (cheap). this happens until earnings stabilize, then you will see p/e stabilize. for $WBA, there is hope that with their recent narrowing of FY2024 guidance, 3.20 - 3.35 eps, we will see trough earnings that they can stay at or rise from. when/if that happens, they will deserve a higher p/e than the 5.25x - 5.50x that they currently have, more like 7x - 8x which would be $22.40 - $26.80

$WBA Get a contract signed - 2% raise in 7 years, yikes! A union representing Walgreens pharmacists plans to demonstrate outside of more than 46 local Walgreens stores over the next month to protest pay and working conditions. The National Pharmacists Association-LIUNA, which says it represents 900 Chicago-area Walgreens pharmacists, plans to demonstrate outside two or three stores a day from now until May 10. The union says the pharmacists have been working without a contract for nine months and have received a 2% wage increase over the last seven years. Meanwhile, they say, the pharmacists have endured inconsistent scheduling and have been expected to provide more services to patients since the pandemic, such as vaccinations, without additional staff support.
