Retail sales in March has shown a strong rise, exceeding analyst' expectations despite the previous drop. This, combined with recently released CPI data could potentially influence the potential interest rate cut in June-what’s your thought for FED’s next move? How will stock market react to the stronger consumer demands? Follow more economic data report ONLY on Stonk! $SPY $IVV $VTI $QQQ #StonkTech #RetailSales #CPI

$TLT $VOO $VTI The wealth effect is something I've always wondered about. As I've lost some 4 percent of total net worth over the past week (after it consistently climbing for months), I pulled back on spending and am doing some more freelance work. It's psychological and sure most Americans don't have significant funds like that and much more debt if the numbers are to be believed. But it'll make a difference, in the aggregate, I'm sure. People pulling bsck discretionary spending and working more I think we're setting up for a big rally into year end. Seasonality and all will help. All need to hit peak bearishness again, though, like at November 2023 bottom. We're not quite there yet IMO

Released on April 10th, the consumer price index (CPI) surged to 3.5% YoY increase in March, driven by higher prices of staples and persistent housing costs, indicating that inflation might be more entrenched than previously thought. The supercore inflation, excluding food, energy, shelter, and rent, rose to 4.8%, and economists are concerned about the slow progress in reducing inflation, especially with housing costs being a significant factor. What are your thoughts for the the new CPl report? Does it indicate a slower deflation rate? #StonkTech #CPI #USeconomy $SPY $IVV $VTI $QQQ

Announced on April 10th, the consumer price index (CPI) surged to 3.5% YoY increase in March, indicating that inflation might be more entrenched than previously thought. Market’s confidence in reducing inflation could be damped down as housing inflation has remained stubbornly high-will rate cut be possible this year? $VTI added 3 shares to the Roth.

User Image olddumper Posted - 2 days ago

@Seancore gonna level with you man. From your posts you really shouldn't be actively managing your money. Just buy some $VEA $VOO $VONG and $VTI then call it a day. You are like 20 years worth off learning about finance away from being in a place where you should actively manage your investments. Dont even buy Root because you have no idea of the machinations that drive share price in general. I know this goes against some of my recent posts but you really arent cut out for this.

I’m always curious where people’s trade cash went after a sale. Mine went first to $BRK.B . Second to $VTI . Anytime I’m in doubt or there is severe “potential” market risk, I go to Berkshire Hathaway. Second, I choose VTI because it’s the entire USA stock market. Yes, that includes DNA. My reach was to $IBIT (Bitcoin) and will likely be my first buy on Monday Morning. Again, I’ll likely be back. I bet I potentially sold at the bottom. Hand on a Bible: I would feel better buying back my shares in 3 weeks or so at $1.20-$1.40 with genuine news that is FINANCIALLY positive for DNA. This stock is clearly in the …….Show Me The Money, phase. I think they could say they have a cure for Cancer but if it didn’t come with Cash NOW, the market would yawn. I’m not going to be on the board spreading FUD to get a better price. It’s not my style. I took a Loss, I move on to fight another day in another way.

@scisector9 @MarcBonc cash your puts immediately on Monday. The day Russia invaded Ukraine the s and p was down about 4.5% but finished green. I’m gonna be adding some $VTI to my Roth if we open deep red.

@Dlpfcb @BRNDN @Junkxxx @TheCrimeDog how old is this dude @BRNDN? Think in decades. I’m 35 and am thinking what this will do for me when I’m 65! I started a decent size position and now I have my brokerage account buy $10 every day the market is open and I manually buy more when there is weakness. I DRIP the dividends as well. I am doing that for $VOO and $VTI but buy more each day the market is open. I DRIP the dividends as well. Unless you are about to retire, get a hold of yourself! You should be licking your chops when there is perceived weakness that effect the index.

@2030orbust @chapitoo sigh…you’re never supposed to sell $VTI

User Image 2030orbust Posted - 5 days ago

Sold all $VTI , think we could see some weird price action the next month due to geopolitical risks, plus an index that is overextended. Main holding will be $SCHD with a bunch of individual stocks as well

@TheBetterBull @REGARDALERT you have to be kidding me. You are changing the variables to suit your argument. Keep the variable (the amount you invested) the same. If you bought $1000 of a stock that is $100 a share you would have 10 shares If you bought $1000 of a stock that is $10 a share you would have 100 shares. You need to go by percentage to see the effect of your investment. Down $10 on a $100 stock would mean you are down 10% and thus your investment is worth $900 Down $2 on a $10 stock would mean you are down 20% and thus your investment is worth $800 Come on man! And of course individual stocks will increase more than the Indexes. But what they will also do is fall far more when bad news/recessions hit. They are more risky Thus someone that doesn’t want to do any research but knows they need to invest should buy $VOO or $VTI. They will come away with way more money than they put in and be able to sleep just fine.

If you're a beginning investor (or even an experienced one), it's important that your portfolio have a solid foundation. $SPY, $VOO & $VTI are all great as core long-term investments, but one of them, in my opinion, has the advantage!
