$IHS - What you might have missed in Q3 earnings: IHS Towers is set for a financial transformation in 2025, driven by Nigeria’s reduced withholding tax (WHT) on telecom services from 10% to 2%. This change will unlock $78.9M in annual cash flow and allow IHS to reverse $30M in impairments, addressing years of financial drag caused by unutilized tax credits. Adjusted Levered Free Cash Flow may surge 55-65%, from $250-$270M in 2024 to $390-$450M in 2025. This cash flow boost will enable growth investments, debt reduction, and shareholder returns, positioning IHS for long-term stability and value creation. Looking forward to 2025!

$IHS Q3 summary- as expected. Capex down by $100mm, nigeria WHT changes. All good news for cash flow but debt and costs still too high. This should be positive for stock price

$IHS - looks like the impact from the new MTN contracts will be more than anticipated. This was released yesterday , likely the cause of the drop.
The revised terms with IHS reduce the US dollar-indexed component of the leases linked to a discounted US CPI. The renegotiated agreements incorporate an energy cost component indexed to the cost of providing diesel power; however, the terms also include discounts and incentives over the life of the contracts.
In the current period, the accrued opex savings from the effective date of the contract on 1 April 2024 was approximately N54 billion as at the end of September ($31mm)
Given the nature of the contracts, we expect to incur higher depreciation and finance costs in the early stages due to the extension of the lease period to 31 December 2032, but the benefits will be more pronounced in the later years. We anticipate recording a net positive impact of between N3.5-4 trillion on PBT over the duration of the contracts (2 to 2.3bn) - huge!

$IHS - I can also see them reducing their guidance on 2024 Capex. They have continually kept guidance at $330-370mm since last year but only spent $107mm in H1. With a tight Capex regime and only $10mm left on project green we should see $100mm reduction in FY Capex. Good news for shareholders

$IHS - Will likely miss earnings estimates due to further naira devaluation effect on loans but capital discipline has been good and the gain story from WHT should give a nice year end bounce.

@Ralffus32 $IHS
Taking Nigeria revenue as $1,100,000,000, this gives a WHT reduction from 110,000,000 to 22,000,000 I.e. a cash flow improvement of $89mm per annum! Why would IHS not want to announce and welcome that?

$IHS Reply from IR Thank you for your email. This means that our WHT will reduce from 10% to 2%, effective from 1 January 2025. Hence, it does not impact our FY2024 financials. We will discuss this further on our next earnings results conference call and accompanying releases. Big change!

$IHS Market maker insiders are having another run to push the price up but still very low volumes. I don’t expect a sustained move up until more positive news flow. Divestment of Rwanda and Zambia and Nigeria withholding tax changes could come through before the next earnings call. Let us hope so!

$IHS - Nigeria tax changes are working their way through the political system. Slowly! Likely to make a significant improvement to #IHS cash flow. https://nairametrics.com/2024/09/23/fec-approves-presidential-tax-committees-recommendations-offer-tax-breaks-to-companies-employing-more-staff/

$IHS I see the 'sell at $3.50 and buy below $3 brigade are playing their games again when the news flow stops. Now it is up to leadership to get around the investment community and tell the story for the future. I see many meetings planned in September and a new IR guy in place. I hope we don't have to wait until Q3 earnings for any good news flow! Rwanda sale, Nigeria WHT changes, Shareholder value initiatives, MTN / IHS coming to a final governance agreement. All should improve investor confidence along with a more stable Naira (which should also benefit from the new Dangote refinery)
