Itafos operates as a phosphate and specialty fertilizer platform company. It operates through Conda, Arraias, and Development and Exploration segments. The company produces and sells monoammonium phosphate (MAP), MAP with micronutrients, superphosphoric acid, merchant grade phosphoric acid, single superphosphate (SSP), SSP with micronutrients, and ammonium polyphosphate. It also owns 100% interests in the Farim, a phosphate mine project situated in Farim, Guinea-Bissau; Araxá, a rare earth element and niobium mine and extraction plant project that covers an area of approximately 226 hectares situated in Minas Gerais, Brazil; Paris Hills, a phosphate mine project, which covers an area of approximately 1,010 hectares located in Idaho, the United States; and Mantaro, a phosphate mine project that covers an area of approximately 12,800 hectares located in Junin, Peru, as well as 99.4% interest in the Santana, an integrated phosphate mine and fertilizer plant project, which covers an area of approximately 233,070 hectares located in Pará, Brazil. The company was formerly known as MBAC Fertilizer Corp. and changed its name to Itafos in December 2016. Itafos is based in George Town, the Cayman Islands. Itafos is a subsidiary of CL Fertilizers Holding LLC.
