$BA $EADSY Japan to take another shot at homegrown airplane, Nikkei says Japan looks to collaborate with the private sector to develop a next-generation passenger aircraft, hoping to avoid the pitfalls that doomed Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' (MHVYF) SpaceJet by encouraging the participation of multiple companies and helping create technology standards, Nikkei's Riho Nagao reports. The project is expected to explore propulsion systems beyond jet engines that are mainstream now, including the development of hydrogen-combustion engines, the report says. Other publicly traded companies in the space include Boeing (BA) and Airbus (EADSY).

A timely idea. $ERJ blew out earnings and is taking flight. A good alternative to $BA Boeing with its condemned, accident-prone fleet of 737-9 aircraft, the result of sloppy workmanship and greedy corner cutting strategies. Also $EADSY

$EADSY $BA Airbus CFO tells CNBC company 'not happy' about issues at Boeing Airbus (EADSY) CFO Thomas Toepfer told CNBC's Charlotte Reed that the company is "not happy" about the issues facing Boeing (BA), saying the situation has made Airbus "obsessed by the thought" of ensuring the same thing does not happen on one of its own aircraft. "I think it's not helpful for the industry, and if it's not helpful for the industry, it's not helpful for Airbus," Toepfer said. Boeing is under huge scrutiny and facing a reputational crisis after a door plug blew out of one of its 737 Max aircraft mid-flight.

$BA 26% of all commercial planes are 737s. 90% of cargo planes are Boeing in general. this corrupt woke company has so serious quality problems that eventually one or more planes will crash and people will die. It is unavoidable with these criminals. They will try to cover them up and attribute them to pilot or airline errors but it will be tough. The Boeing planes will be grounded and the effect on the economy will be very serious. Buying Airbus stock ( $EADSY ) is a very good play.

$UAL $BA $EADSY United Airlines planes have seen 8 incidents in 2 weeks, NY Times reports United Airlines (UAL) planes have seen eight incidents over the past two weeks involving aircraft manufactured mainly by Boeing (BA) and Airbus (EADSY), The New York Times' Christine Chung reports. All of the incidents happened on flights that took off from or were headed to airports in the United States, and five involved airplanes made by Boeing, Chung writes, and while no injuries have been reported, the incidents have increased anxiety about aviation safety among federal officials. Kyra Dempsey, who writes about aviation accidents in a blog called Admiral Cloudberg, said that United's recent issues were being "falsely conflated with Boeing's troubles." "While it's bad luck that United had so many incidents in such a short period, in general such incidents happen frequently around the world and they aren't on the rise overall," Dempsey said.

$BA $EADSY $SPY $QQQ As people living under frequent airline flight paths expressed fear that, at any moment, they could be crushed by a falling airplane wheel, Boeing maintains gravity would be at fault for such an incident. "Even if a wheel from one of our planes falls off, we're not the ones sending it hurtling down toward unsuspecting victims," Harper said. "If gravity would just stop, this could all be avoided. We here at Boeing join our colleagues in the aerospace industry in calling on gravity to end this. People's lives are at stake here, gravity. Knock it off."
