$DQ wouldn’t the news today accelerate bankruptcies in sector and there for accelerate inflection of poly pricing? $jks

User Image net0trader Posted - 18 hours ago

@MaverikIT wowza…. Under normal circumstances, I would have been tempted by $DQ at this price. But with the current uncertainty on tariffs and solar, I will stay away from it other than some quick hit and runs

$DQ DQ up nearly 10% today. According to a Reuters ... China finalises stricter investment guidelines for solar manufacturing China's industry ministry on Wednesday finalised investment guidlines for solar photovoltaic (PV) manufacturing projects in an effort to rein in overcapacity, according to a notice on the ministry website. The guidelines direct companies to ensure a minimum capital ratio of 30% for solar PV projects. Previously, that standard applied only to polysilicon manufacturing projects while the minimum for other PV projects was 20%. The ministry said the guidelines were aimed at upgrading and structural adjustments in the PV industry. China's solar panel manufacturers have been calling for the government to step in and curb over-investment in the industry that has led to a plunge in prices of solar cells and modules, but prices have remained stubbornly low.

$DQ I've traded this many times profitably, and got back in last week. Was browsing their earnings report, and was pleasantly surprised to see that their assets increased, while their liabilities actually decreased. Curious if anyone knows how they did that with a $60 mil net loss?

$DQ Sold a bunch of my American solar stocks that were mooning today, and put a lot of here. Would rather stick with a cash giant.

$DQ Congratulations to those who sold at 30, wait for it again in the area of 10 and buy again . The stock will try the support at 14 again and I think this time it will easily break it towards 10 .

$DQ there’s no such a thing and a well managed Chenese company

User Image WallyLover84 Posted - 2 weeks ago

$DQ i am a value investor and I am truly convinced that DAQO is a really well managed company, with an amazing balance sheet (no debt and over 2 bil of cash on hand). Saying that, the recent pump (from 14 to 28)has been 99% speculative as OVERSUPPLY persists and even considering a warning by Chinese gov it will persist for the entire 2025 at least. Why? Because top 5 producers are putting in the market new capacity in order to push out others competitors and they account for a huge portion of total poly production in China. On the other hand demand is growing BUT not enough to cooling oversupply. We have to wait that I) no top producers will leave the market or that their products will be obsolete Ii) a demand boost driven by we trasition to green economy. US customs duties will not help at all and the potential market addressable by daqo is now reduced. Conclusion: Daqo will succeed but the next shortage is far to come. In the short term 14 area might be reached again.

User Image nicjoh Posted - 10/31/24

$DQ Q: What are the plans for selling Shanghai shares to address the price gap between Shanghai and New York shares after the lockup period ends in January? A: Anita Shu, Deputy CEO: We have considered selling down shares to purchase ADRs to close the gap, but regulatory difficulties have delayed this. The decision will depend on the stock price in January.

User Image WallyLover84 Posted - 10/31/24

$DQ this is partially true. Respected poly researchers say that oversupply will persist more than expected and the new shortage will come not before 2028. We have ahead another year of poly price below cash cost - a part of a few weeks of positive seasonality. I agree that fundamentals are solid but the current market cap is more than 2x its sales and it will have eps negative or neutral in 2025. Considering that new shortage is quite far to happen and that 2025 will be thought as 2024 I think there is room to go back to 14usd price stock area. Let's see

User Image schobes Posted - 10/31/24

$DQ still fear is dominating here... If I calculated that correctly they have like $33 per share in cash (and short time investments). They are actively reducing cash burn so even if poly prices stay depressed for another few months they won't run out of money (while almost EVERY other player will). I estimate they will turn cash flow positive in q4 2024 or q1 2025 (because they will be able to reduce inventory). My gameplan here: BUY and don't watch every single day. Look in 2026 how things have developed. I think they will be profitable, expanding, AND still debt free (as the only one of the big players in this industry) and hold at least a billion in cash. Stock price 50+. Just my opinion. Good luck everyone!
