@uniowner I just don’t see that happening. It’s what usually happens with buybacks, but their announcement of an increased $25m after their lowered guidance did nothing to help the stock price. Usually a stock offers buybacks in exchange for extra cash sitting around, and mediocre earnings. When $AAPL reported, they did the buyback because they had cash, and mediocre earnings. Their price jumped. $UA same thing. $PERI did that, and drop roughly 50%. In 99% of cases, I would agree, but this is a special circumstance I believe. Also, no one benefits if they buy back over a year. Shareholders don’t get that quick buying pressure, with retail jumping in. If everything goes well, the company benefits, and there would be less of a float to trade, but I don’t see why they would want to gamble on that. The turnaround can happen 6-12 months sooner, just by doing the 25% limit.

@uniowner Great question! The picture I have on my account was the CFO responding to the question on buybacks. The response was that it should start by the end of May, and should show on their balance sheet at the end of the quarter. Realistically, that should in past mean that by June 30th, end of quarter, there should be proof of the buyback in place. The response should come as a result of an overwhelming drop, which should not have been anywhere near what happened. Management wants shares at these prices. As for the ‘market,’ they simply don’t read enough filings as others do. When $AMC did the reverse split, no ape or anyone realized that they had 550m shares worth of dilution. Sometimes the market doesn’t react quick enough. Same thing with $UA yesterday. Managed to pick up shares at $5.75 because no one saw the $500m in buybacks. Yes, buybacks can take place for a long duration, but it sounds more than likely they are doing the buyback by the end of the quarter.

$UAA $ua. Setting bar for 2025 very low this year. Cleaning house and more focused and better path. Selling on price only leads you to a commodity item. This qrt is crap. I expect better results in the following qrts. It's about brand, sports aren't going away and top brands will continue to perform. Low margin items will be going away.
