$CIM Chimera reports Q3 non-GAAP EPS 36c, consensus 44c Reports Q3 GAAP book value per share $22.35. "We feel good about our business. We continue to find new investment opportunities and have increased the dividend on our common stock for two consecutive quarters," said Phillip J. Kardis II, President and CEO. "Throughout the Q3, the company sponsored a mortgage securitization, issued unsecured debt, purchased nearly $600M of securities, and committed to purchase more than $100M of residential transition loans. Post quarter-end, we entered into a definitive agreement to acquire The Palisades Group, an alternative asset manager, which we believe will broaden our residential credit reach and provide a source of fee-based income."

$RITM Page 5 and Page 34 and 35 of the Presentation today is all you need to study, it gives the entire picture! Really, Page 34-35 the most interesting. Mortgage Company wise $COOP and $PFSI trade @ 1.2X and 1.3X Book Value with 5-11% ROE, NewRez we barely get 1.1X and we have a 25% ROE. If we had the same 1.4X, it would add $2 to our book value. Investment portfolio, $CIM is the only one lower than us on a p/bv. We have a .80X p/bv, if they would just give us the same 1X p/bv that $NLY has, that would add another $1.25 to book value. So them 2 "true valuation adjustments would raise our book value $3.25-3.75 per share, or over $16 book value. Mortgage loans and asset management is not real big changes. But the top 2 segments for us on page 34, those are significant changes, like 30% added book value if they would simply give us equal credit like companies mentioned above. We will get it eventually, one way or the other!!

$TWO $MFA $CIM $PMT $DX My caution on the mREIT space here hasn't panned-out, yet... But..... The PCE inflation read on 30 Aug 24 will likely show less declaration in price levels across the economy... If the next leg down in the correction hasn't been triggered by then, this will likely be the trigger....

User Image WTLF Posted - 3 months ago

$TWO $MFA $PMT $CIM $RWT Very strong July consumer spending spending sending the 10 YR UST up 12 basis points this morning... Not so good for mREITs... I don't like the way mPEITs are not responding to good inflation reads... And now this just complicates the forward outlook for rate cuts.....

User Image WTLF Posted - 3 months ago

$MFA $PMT $CIM $RWT $DX I'm just not liking how the overall markets (and mREITs) are trading here giving two great inflation reads... It really feels like the market is heading lower over the short-term, and mREITs will be getting dragged down with them... We may see a further correction here in August, and then recover when the Fed cuts in September, clearing the way for a rally into year-end... Essentially pulling the October correction forward to August....

User Image WTLF Posted - 3 months ago

$TWO $MFA $PMT $CIM $RWT I don't like the way the entire mREIT sector really hasn't budged after two great inflation reports... Something's not right here... We should have seen more upside.....

I'd really love to see some of these reits like $Mitt $mfa $cim $nymt start using some of these notes to call. Some prefs. Debt is piling up.
